What's in your bag? Dead animals, shades and more at the Westword Music Showcase
Last Saturday was scorching, and not just because the temperature broke 100 degrees. There was also blazing local music at the eighteenth annual Westword Music Showcase -- with a record-breaking 15,000 fans in attendance. While many focused on remaining hydrated with booze or water, others were fixated on their own personal style. Satiate your stylistic thirst with these two examples of WMS style done right:
Name: Beya Rodriguez.
Spotted at: Vinyl rooftop.
Profession: Make up-artist and esthetician.
Favorite film: The Fifth Element.
Summer anthem: Any hip-hop, jazz or Spanish-rock song I can dance to.
Style inspirations/icons: Carolina Herrera and Anna Sui, who are funky and colorful woman's wear designers. I also love Michael Kors, Donna Karen and Guess by Marciano.
Favorite accessories: My big green ring. Red lips. Orange pumps.
Favorite color: Orange this season, but always black and green.
Style mantra: It's all about me. I like to feel good and express myself, rather than show off.
