Fireworks: Here's where you can still see them

Private fireworks are banned in Colorado and many municipalities across the state have cancelled their fireworks displays this year -- but the shows will go on in a few spots.

There are still options in the metro area - although Dick's Sporting Goods Park announced Tuesday that the fireworks show slated for after the Rapids game has been postponed because of "technical difficulties."

But the Denver Outlaws game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High will still be followed by fireworks; the game starts at 7 p.m. Find more information at www.denveroutlaws.com.

And Elitch Gardens Amusement Park will end July 4 with fireworks.

In the Denver area, the towns of Brighton, Broomfield, Northglenn and Thornton all still have fireworks shows on the schedule.

For more Fourth of July events, see our online listings Denver Fourth of July events -- but be sure to check for any changes in the schedule.

Last night at Civic Center Park, the Civic Center Conservancy hosted a free show with both the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and fireworks at 8 p.m. See photos from the pre-fireworks party last night here: Slide show: Independence Day Eve in Civic Center Park.
