Julian Christianson is top-three finalist in TransWorld Skateboarding video contest

Local skater Julian Christianson -- Westword's Best of Denver 2012 Best Skateboarder pick -- has a knack for turning local contest honors into bigger opportunities. Last year his Hometown Heroes contest win in Denver earned him an invite to skate in the amateur finals at the X Games in Los Angeles, where he came away with the win, and his Element Skateboards Make It Count victory at Lafayette Skatepark earned him the right to compete in finals at Element's YMCA Skate Camp in California, where he won a one-year sponsorship deal.

Now he's at it again.

After winning the local stop of the Zumiez Best Foot Forward amateur contest last month at FlatIron Crossing in Broomfield and advancing to the national competition (where he finished second), Christianson is now one of three finalists -- along with Jack Olson and Kevin Liedtke -- in a head-to-head-to-head video competition hosted by TransWorld Skateboarding. And he needs your votes before Monday, July 30.

The grand prize includes a chance to shoot a photo with a TransWorld Skateboarding staff photographer or film a video out in the streets -- just the kind of exposure he needs to back up those Westword accolades.
