Dark Horse at the Denver FilmCenter/Colfax (Friday-Sunday, $9.75)
In the brilliant Welcome to the Dollhouse, writer/director Todd Solondz explored the intense awkwardness and ridiculousness of being an adolescent girl. His new film, Dark Horse, explores the weirdness of another character: Abe (Jordan Gelber) is a thirty-something man who attempts to court and marry Miranda, played by Selma Blair. If it's anything like his past films, it's sure to be equal parts heartfelt and darkly humorous -- and its definitely one to see on the big screen.
Design With Denver trunk show at the MCA Denver (Friday, free)
Check out the first of the MCA's local-centric trunk-show series today, when the work of Vital Industries will be on display. It's a good chance to buy some of the bicycle-themed wares, browse the current displays at the MCA, and enjoy some hand-crafted cocktails while marveling at Denver's unique designers.
Bazaar-B-Q at The Fusion Factory (Friday-Sunday, $7)

Art for Life Fest at The Green @ Stapleton (Saturday, free)
Parties for a good cause always give you that warm, fuzzy feeling, so be sure to check out this extravaganza that benefits Ponzio Creative Arts Therapy Program at the Children's Hospital. With music from Wheelchair Sports Camp, Talk All Night and more, as well as an art auction, it's sure to be a great party for an equally great cause: The Ponzio program uses creative expression to help kids at Children's Hospital deal with psychological issues and heal.
Hybrid at RedLine (Saturday, free)

Come see the melding of two cultures tonight at RedLine's new curated exhibit, which brings together Irish and American artists. Curated by Denver sculptor Rian Kerrane, who is also an Irish citizen, the show will focus on exchanging art from the two countries. You can catch the first part of the exhibit tonight in Denver; you'll have to travel to the Emerald Isle if you want to experience the next show.
