Go up on the roof with Makers & Doers at LINC 1045
The Space Creators, the realtor/masterminds behind the RiNo artist enclaves of Wazee Union, Walnut Workshop and Laundry on Lawrence, do one special thing that sets them far apart from the pack in real estate: They are active partners in the communities they build. Not only do they provide legs for the careers of young artists and micro-businesses, but they also sponsor networking opportunities within that niche.
Makers & Doers is one of those: The monthly meetup offers people a chance to introduce themselves, their work and their businesses to others in a casual atmosphere. They've met in bars and in Space Creators buildings, but beginning tonight at 7 p.m., they're meeting on the rooftop deck at LINC 1045, a repurposed apartment on Lincoln Street. Space Creators honcho Brian Smith says it's going to be a party with a view (with snacks and beverages provided).
The bright green building, owned by Golden Triangle club mogul Regas Christou, also houses Roostercat Coffee House; Space Creators assumed management at LINC 1045 a month ago, bringing with them the affordable studio/office model that's worked so well in their own buildings. And it's filling up speedily -- Smith notes that LINC 1045 is already at 65 percent of capacity.
Check out the newest LINC in the Space Creators empire, meet new people and have fun. Then plan to come back on October 19 for the building's official grand opening party. Find information about Makers & Doers on their Facebook page.
