Ten of the biggest new ski and snowboard films for this season will be screening this weekend at The Meeting Snowsports Film Festival in Aspen, an annual gathering of filmmakers, athletes and fans with events at the Wheeler Opera House and Belly Up.

Films from Level 1 Productions, Teton Gravity Research, Matchstick Productions, Burton Snowboards, Givin, Voleurz, Poor Boyz Productions, Sent Productions, Pirates and Standard Films are all in the lineup. Per tradition, however, the Meeting opened last night with a decidedly different take on snowsports filmmaking: The NEPSA Awards (that's Aspen, spelled backwards), featured nine short films made on the cheap, mostly by local filmmakers.
