Small Business Saturday: In Boulder, they shop local, too!
Denver's not the only buy-local shopper's Valhalla to have big plans for tomorrow's national AMEX-sponsored Small Business Saturday. Downtown Boulder is spreading the love to loyal gift-hunters, and more than forty businesses on the Pearl Street Mall and environs will participate by offering discounts, open houses, free good cheer and other perks throughout the day.
For example, when you buy American-made items at the Boulder Arts & Crafts Gallery, a portion of the profits will benefit the Craft Emergency Relief Fund, an organization offering assistance to crafters in emergency situations. The Boulder Book Store will offers discounts on books and other items, and at the vintage clothing store the Ritz, 959 Walnut Street, all seasonal duds and accessories will be fifteen percent off -- perfect time to rent or buy that Santa suit!
Discounts from ten to 35 percent will be offered at the Art Mart on ready-to-hang art; at the furniture recycler Clutter, drawings will be held all day for discounts, and special ornaments will be discounted, as well. And the cherry on top? Take a break from shopping to dine at the Beehive, hand them a receipt from any SBS participating business and savor a free caramel cream puff to top off your meal.
That's just a smattering of the deals you'll find; for a full list visit Downtown Boulder Inc. online.
