Denver playwright and director Terry Dodd, who made a strong showing last spring at the Aurora Fox with his Amateur Night at the Big Heart, knows his way around a script -- as well as the stage in general. Tonight, he'll embark on a new journey with a staged reading of his play Stealing Baby Jesus.

The play-in-progress kicks off at the turn of the millennium, when the baby Jesus seems to have been hijacked from every creche in town; on the heels of this mass disappearance come sightings of the holy infant rising to heaven. Real or unreal? One prominent disbeliever strives to find out, but the answer he comes up with might not be the one he expects.

Be in on the first glimmer of what could be next year's holiday favorite: The show starts at 7 p.m. at the Aurora Fox, and admission is only $5. For details see the Facebook event page.
