Reader: Elvis will always be remembered as the greatest singer/entertainer ever

Colorado saw a lot of Elvis in the '70s, when his exploits became the stuff of legend. But decades before, he started making an undeniable impact on American music -- and those accomplishments should not be overshadowed, says singer/fiddler Katie Glassman, who was in town for a tribute show dedicated to Elvis's contributions this past weekend.

And this reader agrees:

Says Chrisclarke48:

What do you mean he is remembered for the controversy of his later life? He is remembered for his music because he was, is and always will be the greatest singer/entertainer that ever walked the planet, no one will replace him because no one will ever be half good enough. When 75.000 turn up for the 35th anniversary of his death, I think that tells us something and its nothing to do with controversy.

How do you remember Elvis? What do you consider his cultural contributions?
