I suppose you are allowed to administer your contests any way you choose, however I do think that you botched this one. You didn't announce a winner on Friday, and then announced the winner was someone who entered into the contest after it was supposed to be closed. You at Westword can do whatever you like with your swag, but shouldn't you follow your own contest guidelines?

Donnie Darko is by far one of the best movies I have ever seen.  Everytime I watch the film I begin to understand something I have missed the previous time I watched it.  The soundtrack plays in my head for days and I feel a connection to the songs.  I love moives that make you think!

Since childhood I have sat around watching Planet of the Ape Marathons.  I use to hide under the covers and watch them on my mini TV hoping my mom wouldn't catch me.  I still love the movies and watch them often.  Watching Argo today I learned the make up artist John Chambers took part in saving the lives of six Americans hostage in Iran.  This is why I love the movies, they are truly inspiration to make life great. to teach you about the world you live in, to make you laugh, cry and love.  I look forward to seeing more movies that inspire me to think beyond my everyday life.

TED is my favorite movie because it is hilarious. Every time I have watched it I could not stop laughing. Love that cute little foul mouthed bear! :)

Good Will Hunting - because it's a beautiful homage to the city of Boston.  And because no one can make a Boston accent sound as sexy as Ben Affleck can.  And because the song "Angeles" by Elliot Smith makes me want to cry every time.

Favorite movie: Napoleon Dynamite

Why? You just can't beat a scene with a llama, except by a scene where a steak gets chucked like a football at the face of a nerd and a Hispanic man on a bike and knocks the glasses off the nerd....classic.

Favorite movie? The Goonies. Two words, truffle shuffle.

But really, it's awesome because as a kid, I wanted all the gadgets that "Data" had and my brothers and I always came up with some type of map and treasure to search for while re-enacting the scenes. Finally, I can still watch that movie to this day and have a good laugh-- great for all ages!

My favorite movie is "The Graduate".

The soundtrack is amazing. Simon and Garfunkel just nail the overall vibe of the movie/time.  Dustin Hoffman is incredible as a listless directionless apathetic college graduate. I really connected to his character through a majority of my 20ies. The montage of him rolling between sex, the couch, bed, etc is just so fluid and perfect. Sitting on the bottom of the pool in his scuba gear (parodied so well in Old School) is a classic.

Some of the best lines EVAR! "Plastics!" "No, it's fully baked." Hot car.

The ending encapsulates the entire film. Riding away with no real emotion, no real catharsis, no real conclusion. Just silence in a noisy bus, with the one you supposedly love.

I hope I win, I need to see some new films. That wasn't so hard, Juan.
