Womenswear Wednesdays: Violinist Erika Gamez takes on pin-up girls and Gucci glamor

Categories: Fashion, Photos

Gamez found this Gucci monogram purse on Ebag and looked up the serial number upon its arrival. "It turns out that it is from the 1970s," she says.

Inside the bag, we have a variety of products and items that tell a story about Gamez. There's lip balm, Juicy Couture perfume, a bedazzled compact mirror and an embellished iPhone case alongside a nude Coach wallet, ear bud headphones and a cherry blossom-scented lotion. Following a red theme are the red velvet gloves, blush, red lipstick, hair brush, and floral printed cosmetic case.

Her keys are even decorated with a sugar-skull, a Ministry of Magic 'M' and "I heart Las Vegas" key chains. She carries around this toy panda for good luck.

Style analysis: Gamez manifests her fashion views into her own look. She takes the black hair and red lips from glamorous pin ups and messy hair from rock and roll artists such as Alison Mosshart and Victoria Legrand. Her views are expressed in the items she carries: personalized everything and an alarming amount of gaudy red.
