Heartburn Party at the Denver Central Library (Tuesday)
For the lovelorn or anyone simply uninterested in the greeting-card holiday of love, the Denver Public Library's Fresh City Life is throwing its second annual Heartburn bash as an anecdote to all things pink and flowery. Whole Foods will provide snacks while you watch a screening of Pontypool, a psychological thriller set on Valentine's Day that is anything but romantic.

Dance, Baby, Dance at Shine (Thursday)
Fourteen years ago, Eve Ensler founded V-Day as a Valentine's alternative to raise awareness for violence against women. Now she's starting a continuation of the movement that invites women to dance and rise up against rape culture. Make Valentines, dance and watch a performance tonight at Shine as part of this global, all-ages movement.

F-Bomb Reading Series at The Bar (Thursday)
Fast Forward Press publisher Nancy Stohlman's newest offering, the F-Bomb Reading Series, isn't based in obscenity -- it's all about flash fiction, or short short stories. The series kicks off this Valentine's Day with featured reader Rob Geison and Stohlman as hosts, as well as an open mic for other concise storytellers to perform in five-minute slots.
