Real Is a Feeling at Gildar Gallery (Friday, free)
As part of Denver's month of photography, Gildar Gallery will unveil a group show that explores the idea of reality through image reproductions. Inspired by a song by former Denver resident and artist Travis Egedy (a.k.a. Pictureplane), the show will feature works by artists including Devon Dikeou, Mario Zoots and Egedy himself, that all explore the concept of the real through a variety of different lenses.
Denver Disco at Bar Standard (Friday, $5)
Though Whit Stillman might claim it's over, disco is definitely not dead at Bar Standard. Dance to the tunes of Mike Moses, Luke the Knife, Fun Factory and Charles B at this new weekly disco party. Entrance before 10 p.m. is free, so get there early to get a deal on dancing.
Sweet Tooth Opening at The Shoppe (Saturday, free)
Collector, artist and photographer Andrew Novick is unveiling his new series of food photography tonight at the Shoppe -- and it's sure to be sweet. The show features photos of over a thousand sugary confections. fortunately; it's at a cupcake shop, so you can satisfy your own need for sugar by buying one of Novick's signature cupcakes that comes with a fondant tooth.
BYOF Day at IKEA (Saturday, free)
