3 things to do for free in Denver this week, March 11-14
Joan Crawford once famously proclaimed that she loved playing bitches. But back in 1928, in Our Dancing Daughters, the film that made her a star, Crawford played quite a different role: a jilted roaring '20s party girl. See superstar Joan Crawford in the silent film that jump-started her career in 1928. Crawford stars as "Dangerous Diana" Medford, a young woman who's part of the wild youth culture of the roaring 20s -- rather than the Mommy Dearest who was a feared and famed iconic glamor queen.
WHY NOT! video installation at FRCC Visual & Performing Arts Gallery (Wednesday)
Artists Jeromie Dorrance and Derek Fortini will unveil their newest video installation today at Front Range Community College: It's a video tribute to art icons of the past in the Centennial state, as well as Colorado's rising stars. Listen to the artists explain their work at the opening reception; the installation will be up until April 4.
Mutiny Word Night at Mutiny Information Cafe. (Thursday) 
Local comedian Onus Spears has a new night in town -- a politically-oriented open mic that promises to be a safe, open space to share ideas about the state of the world. The event is all-ages, drug- and alcohol- and censorship-free, and there should be plenty of information flowing. Join the conversation!
