Fashion is cyclical and moves in and out in waves. For example, the looks of the 1990s are making a fashion comeback in 2013. Spotted at: 22nd and California streets.
Profession: Hostess. Basically, I'm a service-industry drone.
Favorite film:Three Colors: Red, by Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Kieślowski. It's the last film in the Three Colors trilogy.
2013 jam: "Full of Fire," by The Knife.
Style inspirations/icons: Internet sensation Brooke Candy, Courtney Love, and with bands like Babes in Toyland and Bikini Kill. Riot-grrrl music and culture, in general, inspires me. Riot grrrl is an underground feminist punk rock movement that originally started in the early to mid-1990s. Riot-grrrl bands often address issues such as rape, domestic abuse, sexuality, racism, patriarchy, and female empowerment. Also, I like this tumblr called Fuckyeah90s .
Favorite accessory: My denim jacket I got from a vintage store in Austin. If that is not technically an accessory, then I choose my cat Kitty's hair, because it's all over my clothes.
Favorite color: Black, because it is the lack of color and is always classic.
Style mantra: Burn away the basic; advance forever.
Shops at: Frock On Vintage in Austin, Buffalo Exchange, Forever 21, American Apparel for high-waisted pants, the Internet, eBay, and those ratchet ghetto stores in the mall for tacky clothes.
