Updated: Friday the 13th screening moves indoors
This just in:
Due to the unpredictable forecast we are cancelling the 'outdoor' portion of the FRIDAY THE 13TH event, here's what we're doing so you can still watch this chiller classic on the day it was intended to be seen:
>Alamo Drafthouse Littleton will be screening FRIDAY THE 13TH in a theater at 9:35pm for $7.50 (you'll be dry and have full access to the Alamo menu!) People are encouraged to visit the opening night of the Haunted Mansion at Reinke Brothers beforehand (from 5 - 11). Bring back a Haunted Mansion ticket to the Alamo at the FT13TH screening and get a FREE fake machete to wave around! (while supplies last)
Here's our original post:
Be afraid. Be very afraid. The fear of Friday the 13th dates back to biblical times -- but the observation of the dreaded day in Littleton will have a modern twist. The Alamo Drafthouse is teaming up with Reinke Brothers Costume Store and Haunted Mansion, the Historic Downtown Littleton Merchants Association and Breckenridge Brewery to show the original Friday the 13th in the Reinke Brothers's parking lot. And in honor of Littleton making golf carts street legal, this will be a golf-cart drive-in movie.
All golf- cart owners are welcome; Discount Golf Carts at 1360 South Cherokee Street will also be offering special discounts on the vehicles. But if you want to remain golf cart-free, that's no problem: blankets and chairs will do. "We think this will be a really great way to wrap up the summer," says Keith Garcia, now the creative manager of Alamo Drafthouse. "To go along with the spooky mood of the evening, we have some Friday the 13th tricks up our sleeves."
The night will be begin with music provided by the Dave Frisk Band; food and beverages -- both alcoholic and virgin will be available. And the Haunted Mansion, a Reinke holiday tradition, will have a special opening in honor of the dreaded date from 5-11 p.m.
Gates open at the Reinke Brothers parking lot, 5665 South Prince Street, at 5 p.m.; the film will begin at dusk. Admission is $3. Find more information here.
