Five top fashion events for the first week of October
With bikinis packed away and the smell of sunscreen a distant memory, it is time to focus on fall fashion and all it has to offer. October is a great month for fashion events: From fundraisers to a great designer sale, there's something for every shopper.
Gino Velardi (GV) Fashion Show
One of Denver's favorite sons, Gino Velardi will be presenting his signature designs at a fundraiser to offset his medical bills. The show will be held at Exdo Event Center with a cocktail reception, a Gino Velardi Retrospective, and a chance to win a custom cocktail dress.
Thursday, October 3: 6 p.m. reception, 7:30 p.m. fashion show. Tickets $35 for general admission, $55 for front row; purchase at gvfashionshow.eventbite.com.
Back for its third year, CFW has several events -- both private and public -- that begin on October 1. The mission of CFW and its founder and creative director, Justice Kwesi Kwarteng, is to bring together the multi-talented fashion community from across Colorado in order build an economically sustainable and respected fashion industry in Colorado. To that end, CFW 2013 will be hosting a town-hall meeting and panel discussion regarding the "business of fashion," and a Masters of Hair and Make-Up Artistry Fashion Runway Show, Friday, October 4 at the Walker Fine Art Gallery. The main fashion show will be held on Saturday, October 5 at the Oxford Hotel, with a trunk show by MAI Couture on Sunday, October 6 at Envogue Salon.
