Sometimes the stylish people we spot on the streets are Denverites, and sometimes they're visitors passing through the Mile High City. This week fashion fashion-conscious consultant Yuya Xiong caught our eye while he was here on a business trip. Read on to learn where he shops, and also what city and actor inspire his style.

Spotted at: 14th Street and Broadway.

Profession: I work for a consulting company in Japan. I'm visiting Denver for business.

Favorite film: The original Ocean's Eleven.

2013 jam: I don't really listen to American music, but I like Linkin Park's first album, Hybrid Theory, a bunch.

Style inspirations/icons: Japan-based actor and model Tetsuji Tamayama has great style. I like Tokyo, and the fashion there is very inspirational.

Favorite color: Navy.

Favorite accessory: Bracelets.

Style mantra: I want to be stylish.

Shops at: I mainly shop in Tokyo. I have to see the clothes and hardly ever buy online.

"This is a simple look, but I chose to wear these pants because they can function for work and outside of work as well," says Xiong. Here he shows off his silver watch, which, like his pants, is simple, stylish and functional.

These tan boots are a find from Japan, and the Marc Jacobs apple-printed tote bag was a complimentary item from a magazine.

Style analysis: Although Xiong describes his look as "simple," it is elegant and refined. The black corduroy pants and static-printed V-neck are solid color, but the mustard-colored cardigan tied around his neck offers a burst of color. His brown leather boots match his brown bracelet, while his watch and tote bag are both sleek and functional. The overall effect of this ensemble is streamlined menswear that may be casual, but is filled with personality.

When in doubt, dress simple but refined, Denver.

Here's a better idea: select the "unlike feature" and spare yourself the rise in blood pressure, homey.

I like his outfit. It's simple, but he wears his clothes well. I can see why he caught the eye of the photographer. Denver is full of a vast assortment of people and style, and I think it's great that Westword has a feature to showcase some of it. Welcome to Denver Mr. Xiong - I'd be so happy to see you wandering around town!

That watch is predominantly gold: gold bezel, gold-in-silver links. And the tan boots only hurt the grayscale outfit. Does the writer happen to own a studded denim jacket?

So taking pictures of what random people are wearing on the street constitutes a story? Is this a printed publication, or a poorly run Instagram account? If the next 'story' you run is about the amazing eggs benedict you at this morning, or the Top Ten Denver Sunsets, I'm going to lose my fucking mind.
