Jolt honors cycling in his latest mural at the Oskar Blues-owned Cyclhops in Longmont

On New Year's Eve, the Longmont-based Oskar Blues brewery will open the latest in its ever-expanding empire of craft-beer-themed restaurants and businesses. Cyclhops Bike CANtina, at 600 Airport Road in Longmont, will be a Mexican-style restaurant with twenty beers on tap, along with 43 premium tequilas and room for 300 people.

But it will also serve as a showcase for well-known graffiti artist Jolt, a Denver local, Westword MasterMind and artistic mover and shaker who was most recently spotted decorating the side of Little Man Ice Cream.

The video above gives a taste of both Oskar Blues and the Jolt mural, which is a tribute to twentieth-century Mexican illustrator Jose Guadalupe Posada and his painting depicting skeletal cyclists. The combination looks like a good pairing.

Why cyclists? Because Cyclhops will also have a retail outlet for the brewery's line of REEB bicycles. The shop will give "patrons the opportunity to demo, view and purchase one of the bike company's four signature models of hand crafted, locally-made bikes," according to a statement from Oskar Blues.

In addition to its production brewery and tasting room in Longmont, Oskar Blues also runs two other restaurants -- CHUBurger and Homemade Liquids and Solids -- in town and a separate brewery/restaurant in Lyons. It is also planning to open an outlet of CHUBurger at Coors Field next April in the stadium's new rooftop deck.
