X Games, Beaver Creek Food & Wine, Mary Jane's birthday and more

Five more years! ESPN and the Aspen Skiing Company announced this week that the Winter X Games will remain in Colorado through at least 2019. This weekend's events -- free for spectators -- include Snowboard Slopestyle, Snowmobile Long Jump, Women's Snowboard SuperPipe, and Ski Big Air on Saturday, and Ski Slopestyle, Snowmobile SnoCross, and Men's Snowboard SuperPipe on Sunday. Cheers! Ready for a fun foodie splurge? The Beaver Creek Food & Wine Weekend, presented by Food & Wine Magazine, runs through the weekend with "Ski. Eat. Ski." packages, après-ski dining experiences, and a Grand Tasting event on Saturday, followed by a Celebrity Chef Ski Race & Brunch on Sunday.

Walk in a winter wonderland! The International Snow Sculpture Championships conclude in Breckenridge this weekend at Riverwalk Center, and you'll get to cast your vote for the People's Choice winner.

Happy birthday, Mary Jane! Mary Jane celebrates its 39th birthday on Saturday with snow sculpture contests, free tele and moguls clinics. Dress like Mary Jane herself for drink specials, and stop by the Club Car to get your birthday cake on at 4 p.m.

Cardboard crash!Keystone's weekend SnoFest, hosted by the Front Range Military Bases, includes ski races and a Cardboard Derby, sending some ridiculous (and ridiculously flimsy) rides down the slope on Saturday. Register at Mountain House at noon to participate and you'll have until 3:30 p.m. to work your cardboard magic before the big spectacle on Discovery Slope at 4 p.m.
