3 things to do for free in Denver this week, April 28-May 1

Categories: Things To Do

May Day means spring is finally fully under way. The art scene is greening up, too, with a Beltane performance and fashion trunk show, a party celebrating the Bike Pit, and a May Day art show this week. Share information on more free happenings in the comments section below, and visit the Westword calendar for a complete list of activities in the area.

New Moon Beltane Performance at Cafe Max (Tuesday, free)
The Gaelic holiday Beltane is known as the time when you're most likely to see faeries, and while today's new moon ritual doesn't promise that, it's not out of the realm of possibility. This ritual performance and trunk show will not only usher in the new moon, but some fresh fashions from Maison de Rose.

MAYDAY at Entre Nous (Thursday, free)
Celebrate the goddess of flowers and spring today at a group May Day art show. Featuring work by such artists as Amelia Gorman, Jillian FitzMaurice and Sasha Pettus, the evening will be an ideal way to usher in a new month and new growth.

Bike Pit Birthday Party at the Bike Pit (Thursday, free)
For a year now, the Bike Pit has run a free, volunteer-managed bike shop to help build bicycle maintenance skills and community. Celebrate the space with bicycle bowling, food, a group ride, and music by Bearsnail and Reality Show tonight. The event is free, but if you feel like supporting the space, the Bike Pit is in need of items like tools and bike parts. (A full list is available on the Facebook invite.)
