Hit and Run Musical Improv at Voodoo Comedy Playhouse (Friday, $10)
Experience an hour-long, Broadway-style musical that is completely improvised. This Voodoo show is prompted by suggestions from the audience, so if you ever thought you could be a great playwright, here's your chance -- kind of.

Springdale Quartet Lawn Concert at Clyfford Still Museum (Friday, free)
Bring a blanket and a picnic down to this free concert at one of the city's best museums. The Springdale Quartet has roots in jazz and blues, but essentially it plays what's called dance music. And you can also explore the museum for free while the quartet sounds off.

Civilized Living at Fancy Tiger (Friday, free)
Local designers from Loveticket and Native Clutter will be on hand for this monthly series at Fancy Tiger to discuss repurposed vintage and antique fashion. The designers will showcase new creations and illustrate their interesting techniques during the program, which is free. And you can also enjoy a beverage while you're there.

Lit Fest at Lighthouse Writers Workshop (Friday-Sunday, free)
Lit Fest is a crazy-intense writers workshop that lasts two weeks. Normally it's pretty expensive to enroll, but since there are so many events, Lighthouse is opening its doors and offering a few programs to the public for free. The Speakeasy will include many famous contemporary writers, reading their work and holding discussions with the audience. All told, Lit Fest has a ridiculous amount of events going on, so check out the calendar for everything.

The Drowsy Chaperone Musical at Founders Green Park (Friday-Sunday, free)
That picnic blanket is going to get a lot of use this weekend, as this free show will need one, too. The musical has been around nearly twenty years and even won a couple of Tony awards. It follows a sad guy known as "Man in chair" who listens to his favorite musical comedy record and suddenly the show comes to life. Pack a snack and bring the fam.
