Westword: If you could collaborate with anyone in history, who would it be, and why?
Andrew Hoffman: Hemingway. Some people would probably disagree with me, but he was kind of the first minimalist, a movement that I'm fascinated by. But I highly doubt Hemingway would be up for any sort of collaboration.
Who in the world is interesting to you right now, and why?
My baby nephew Liam -- it's such a trip to witness a human life manifest. And also my girlfriend. She is a daily source of inspiration and motivation.
What's one art trend you want to see die this year?
I don't think I'm an authority on what or what shouldn't die in the art world, but I do believe that art should transcend being "trendy" and strive for timelessness.
