Over the weekend, some folks went to church and others basked in the sun while celebrating Colorado's favorite plant. But others laced up their skates and took to the floor at the Exdo Event Center dressed head-to-toe in the red, blue and gold, not mention the orange and blue. Ken Hamblin took these shots of the Colorado-centric fun at Roll: Colorado Proud.

Down & Derby's first night at City Hall was a romantic one. The monthly adult skate night, formerly held at the Exdo Event Center, took on Valentine's Day (albeit a little belatedly) over the weekend with a love-filled, heart-bedazzled party. Is roller disco dead? From the looks of Down & Derby's monthly party at Exdo this weekend, the answer is a firm, "Hell no." Guess where I'm skateboarding next to a taxi-related locale to win local skate swag

Categories: Skating

SOTD_headline.jpg
Show and Tell has created a new weekly feature that we're excited to share with you: Spot of the Week. Every Wednesday, we'll post a short clip of a local skateboarder shredding at a local spot. And you can win skate swag as a result: All you have to do is be the first to guess the location of the spot (bonus points if you can correctly name the trick), and we'll hook you up with a prize pack from a local skateboard company. This week's spot is brought it you by Conkwear, and if you guess correctly, you'll win a T-shirt and a sticker pack from the local brand. Good luck!

Skate into the holiday season at the Rink at Belmar

Even though it's not that nippy, the skate must go on at Belmar today, where the shopping center rink will open for the season with a toy drive for Cops Fighting Cancer. Bring a new toy to donate, and you'll hit the ice for free; without a contribution, skate for the regular admission fee of $4 to $6 (skate rentals are an additional $3). Either way, you'll grind your axels to the tune of live music all day.
