In Internet time, the "shit people say" videos really peaked about mid-January, but maybe like you, we seem to watch every one that comes across our browser. And since there have been a few Colorado-related videos that have come out, there hasn't been one about the phrases and idioms of Denver.

We've been getting ahead of ourselves with all the recent snowboard video premieres going down -- and opening day still at least a month away at most Colorado resorts -- but some of our favorite local film crews have been reminding us of an important fact: It's still skateboarding season. Oskar Blues is the second Colorado brewery to tap into a viral YouTube video, releasing Honey Badger Smoked Porter at its restaurants in Longmont and Lyons yesterday. The beer was inspired by "The Crazy Nastyass Honey Badger (original narration by Randall)," a National Geographic video with a hilarious voicever that repeatedly includes the line, "Honey badger don't care. Honey badger don't give a shit."
Don't talk shit to Steve Carell, because apparently he will slap you like a bitch. Not in a scary, Wayne-Brady-turned-evil kind of way -- no, Steve Carell is way too nice for that, and also, in a weird way, he's even scarier. Because somehow, Steve Carell is a sweet enough guy that he will actually talk you into consenting to get bitch-slapped by him, which he convinced Everyday Show host and general Denver gadabout Chris Parente to do in an interview with him -- multiple times. Encapsulating everything that is creepy about talking inanimate objects created in the name of children's television programming, this new video from the London-based This Is It Collective is just that: creepy. The short begins innocently enough, with a small cast of sort-of identifiable characters sitting around a table and sing-talking about being "creative." 
Give anyone who wants it access to unlimited bandwidth, and people are bound to come up with some weird shit. Consider: Though there is no real available count, the number of videos currently posted to YouTube by some estimates is in the multiple billions. Some of these videos go viral, of course -- latest trends include planking, airbag pranks and the continuing popularity of failing -- but the vast majority of hilarious, bizarre and kind of disturbing videos produced by random weirdos simply languish in obscurity, which is bullshit. And it's a problem we're trying to rectify by spotlighting one weird-ass YouTube Channel each week. This week, we take a look at the Church of Surrealism and its bizarre experiments with Go!Animate.
First, imagine 300,000 lbs. of tomatoes. Now, imagine those tomatoes are overripe and mildly rotten. Now, imagine all of those tomatoes in a humongous pile at Copper Mountain and a crowd of people gathered for no other reason than to throw that third-of-a-million-pound heap of tomatoes at each other.
Can you even imagine it? No, you probably can't, which is why it's a good thing we sent photographer Brandon Marshall to bring back this slide-show. And if that's not enough, we brought back video of it, too. Page down to see the mayhem.

Maybe it's the the perpetual heat stroke-induced daze, but there's something about summer that causes people to do things that are even dumber than the stuff they normally do. Case in point, this video, wherein a young man who probably needs more to do with his time ends up smacking face-first into the side of a large inflatable pool after flubbing a trick that probably would have been even dumber if successful. Ah, boredom.
The Mystery Skateboards Color Theory Summer Tour comes to town tonight with a 6 p.m. autograph session at 303 Boards (1338 East Colfax Avenue), followed by a full team demo at 8 p.m. at the Denver Skatepark (2205 19th Street). The Mystery team features Denver's own local skate hero David Reyes as well as skaters Ryan Smith, Pete Eldridge, Ryan Bobier, Jimmy Carlin, Tom Asta, Windsor James, Dennis Durrant, Sascha Daley, Trevor Golden, and Sam Hubble. They're promoting their new video, Color Theory (trailers after the jump).
