​Last night's challenge in Project Runway All Stars was for the designers to create a dress for one of the characters in the Broadway play Godspell. They were given a $200 budget and sent off to Mood to buy "rich-looking fabrics" for their character's wardrobe -- which was to consist of separates that could be assembled onstage.

The bright lights of theater's biggest stage didn't seem to intimidate the designers one bit; they all seemed confident that they would have the winning design.

Katherine McPhee stars in Smash.

​There's huge buzz around Smash, a television show premiering at 9 p.m. tonight on NBC. A procedural drama depicting the creation of a musical about Marilyn Monroe, Smash features such big-name acting talent as Anjelica Huston and Debra Messing, as well as American Idol Katherine McPhee; Uma Thurman appears in a future storyline. Steven Spielberg is among the producers, and the songs are by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, composers for Hairspray.

The names of a couple of the writers for Smash will be familiar to Denver audiences: Theresa Rebeck and Jason Grote met through readings at the New Play Summit at the Denver Center Theater Company; her Our House and his 1001 both received full productions in 2008. "I remember looking at Theresa in the audience during 1001, and hoping she'd laugh at the jokes," says Grote. "She did."

Allen Haff and "Ton" Jones show off a brand they found while filming their Spike TV show, Auction Hunters, in Denver.

Denver is chock-full of storage facilities, which in turn are stuffed to the brim with things for which Denverites just can't find room. Most of the time those things are as mundane as macaroni jewelry boxes and old recliners, but in a few of those storage units are hidden treasures waiting to be appreciated. Allen Haff and Clinton "Ton" Jones, Spike TV's Auction Hunters, were in town last week, trying to find those treasures and turn them into cash.

An even bigger challenge.

Almost as if the producers new what a mistake they made with last week's episode, this week they turned up the excitement with big guests and an even bigger challenge. The designers have been tasked with creating a garment inspired by a flavor of gelato to show to fashion legend Diane Von Furstenburg and supermodel Miranda Kerr. The kicker, though, is that they only get six hours to finish everything.

​I didn't wake up Tuesday morning thinking I'd stop being polite and start being real, but that's how I ended my day. MTV held an open casting call for the new season of its infamous reality show, The Real World at downtown bar Suite 200 and, against my better judgement, I decided to see if I had that certain je ne sais quoi its producers look for in a housemate. I even started getting a little excited about the idea, thinking that, at worst, it'd be a few hours of free drinks and, at best, I'd get a call back. In the end, it was the hot mess most would expect from an MTV casting call.

A friend of mine tagged along to experience the once in the lifetime chance to see where MTV finds people like Puck, Ruthie and the girl from the Philadelphia cast who got scabies.

​Revisit the glory days of The Real World: Denver tomorrow night, when Tyrie Ballard, one of the cast members of the eighteenth incarnation of the reality show that held LoDo hostage five years ago, is featured in the opener of Real World, the Challenge: Battle of the Exes.

​It's only episode three of Project Runway All Stars, and already they're jumping the shark by having the client for this week's challenge be a fictional character. Not just a fictional character, but a fictional animal character. A fictional Muppet character.

That's right, the designers are making cocktail dresses for Miss Piggy.
